In the next decade Coquitlam will see unprecedented growth with 24,000 residents added to Burke Mountain (a population greater than most BC towns) and with the redevelopment of Fraser Mills, Burquitlam and Austin Heights.
This growth must be managed to protect the environment and our existing neighbourhoods from traffic. We need to expand our protective services, public transportation and recreational facilities now and as we grow so that today's residents don't see a drop in services.
Taxes need to be controlled so that they don't increase at a rate faster than our ability to pay them.
We need to ensure that businesses can grow and prosper so that we have good paying jobs right here in Coquitlam.
I was fortunate as a child to grow up in Coquitlam, buy a house here, work here for 36 years, enjoy the recreational opportunities and I want our children and future generations to be able to do the same.
